How to resize Wavetable

3/2/2020

Comments

This section introduces how to convert your own wavetable created with the plug-in into a wavetable for hardware synths. (The reverse method is also available.) As an example, I will show you how to convert a wavetable for Ableton to a wavetable for WaveEdit. It can be applied to other synthesizers.
  • Ableton Wavetable(A 1024 sample long single cycle waveform.)
  • Synthesis Technology WaveEdit(A 256 sample long single cycle waveform.)

Convert for Ableton with Audacity
  • Import the wavetable created by WaveEdit and select Change speed

  • Export as Wav file.
Import to Ableton Wavetable

The waveform of 1024 samples can be expressed up to the 512th overtone, and 256 samples can be expressed up to the 128th overtone. The waveform converted from 1024 samples to 256 samples can only be expressed up to the 128th harmonic even if it is restored to 1024 samples again.
