When using single cycle waveforms, if you load them directly into the sampler, the initial phase of wave when it is played back is fixed. However, if you want to fine-tune the initial phase, you can use a slightly tricky method. That is to double single cycle waveform. Doubling the single-cycle wave will enlarge the waveform and, as a result, the position of the loop point will also change. By adjusting this new loop point, it is possible to fine-tune the initial phase. Specifically, the second half of the original single-cycle wave is copied and added to the beginning of the waveform. This will shift the loop point and change the initial phase. In Analog Rytm and Model:samples, shifting the initial phase of mophing wave shifts the start of the morphing, allowing the user to fine-tune the characteristics of the sound. Script to double multiple waveforms at once
Copy the script below and run Octave to generate the doubled waveform.
GNU Octave
Ext SCW
SCW with FM[Ableton Sampler]
As a side note, applying FM to a single-cycle wave in the Ableton Sampler causes a click sound when looping, but this can be solved by doubling the waveform and shifting the loop position.
